Time to leave Twitter

I am finally decided to end my Twitter experiment. I will probably stay a member but won’t be actively building my Twitter community. There is no point. Whenever I have something neat to say it is down.

If they had the ability to scale then I am sure that I would stick around longer. But for now I am going to get out of the micro-blogging space. Maybe when fall comes around I will join up on FriendFeed.

What do you think about Twitter. Are they on the brink of failure, or have they already started on the downward spiral?

About Jeff
I am an engineer by day and internet marketing tinkerer at night. I started playing around with internet marketing 5 years ago and have been making a profit for the last 4, with no more than 4 hours a week on average and usually much less. The profit is not enough to quit the day job he loves, but enough to buy the toys he wants.

  1. Eh, it’s fun, there’s some highlights to it that I enjoy (like directly Twitter-ing people), but unless you have a large “community” then I don’t think it’s worth your time.

I use it ’cause of the aforementioned reason, and I like to update with what I’m doing at the time. Somehow it keeps me on track!

I don’t think Twitter is on a downward spiral or brink of failure – it’s actually kind of enjoyable when you get in the groove of how it works, and it can be worth your time if you can build up said community.

Twitter is simply just starting to piss me off. It seems that everytime that I go to use it it is down. So I am ending the relationship….for now.

I didn’t have a huge community but I was following some interesting people. I will probably just add their blogs to my reader now and follow along that way
