Frustrations with Webmastering

I either have to go in ot out of the tunnel.

I either have to go in ot out of the tunnel.

I give up, and now I need to find an alternative.

I just spent all of this evening and most of my free time yesterday trying to fix one of my sites.  I still didn’t really fix it, the site only works when there is now www. in the url.  If there is, well 403 everywhere.

Does anyone out there have “people” that do the routine maintenance for their sites?  Ensure that the plugins are up-to-date, and fix any bugs that come up?

I would like to move to hosted solutions, however that limits what I can do with the themes, plugins etc.

Ideally I would like to pay someone in batches to update all of my sites and then fix any bugs for me.  Is this something that anyone out there has tried outsourceing on Enlance or the other alternatives?  If you have any experience with this type of outsourcing please let me know about your experiences.  I would especially like to know how you went about writing the description of work.

About Jeff
I am an engineer by day and internet marketing tinkerer at night. I started playing around with internet marketing 5 years ago and have been making a profit for the last 4, with no more than 4 hours a week on average and usually much less. The profit is not enough to quit the day job he loves, but enough to buy the toys he wants.

Elance is expensive for such small things. It used to be great with prices, but now it has seen trememdous growth so things are a bit different.
I would suggest looking on forums like DigitalPoint etc.

On the other hand I prefer doing such stuff myself; I find that keeps me updated with new developments, and I am more able to spot new opportunities, trends or potential issues.

I have been wasting a lot of productive time messing around with trying to figure out what is breaking sites when I update which is why I am getting frustrated.

I am thinking now after having some other discussions that I will be simply picking my scripts that have everything that I need or at least most of what I need out of the box and doing little to no modding
