Thanks for visiting! See you again Soon!!!I have completed the first step in the upgrade of BluenoserLinks to something that is more relevant in the world today. I bought the script. I haven’t had a change to install it yet but my plan is to take the money that I made from selling the Forum Host site and invest it into BluenoserLinks.
Tonight, or maybe tomorrow, I am going to write up a custom htaccess file and archive the exisiting directory, then I am going to clean the db and send it to the guys at PHPLD to convert into a format for their script. Then comes the new installation. I am hoping that it will not take to long.
When the installation is complete, and I have customized the style to match the old site, I am going to get onto the marketing. First I am going to need a new banner and button, NP is always a good place for that. Then I am going to start thinking about the types of people that I am trying to attract, and how I am going to get them to my site. Webmasters are by far the easiest to attract to a directory, so I doubt that I am going to have to try hard to get their attention, however webmasters want REAL people to click their links, not other webmasters, so that demographic is going to be a little tougher to target. Maybe some Google Adwrods campaigns targeting specific categories, and then some banner campaigns on different social sites.
Then I am going to have to start thinking about the way I want to make money. First I am going to continue with the paid inclusion model, but drop the price so that I can get a influx of new sites. Second I am going to start a Feature Site campaign for a good price.
I am probably going to continue with the Google Adsense, but I am going to get rid of AdBrite for the time being. I don’t think that I have the traffic necessary to make a go at it.
