One way to make sure that your web site is running properly and not affected by other web sites on a server is to have either a semi dedicated or dedicated web server.  A dedicated web server is an extremely important part of your web business, especially if your web site receives tens of thousands of hits per day.  Here are some tips on dedicated web servers.

Dedicated web servers offer web hosters increased uptime reliability, less maintenance issues and less risk of problems with hackers.  Many of today’s web servers are sold in piece meal to sometimes dozens of different web site owners.  It is not uncommon to have a hundreds of different web sites on your shared web server.  If you have a serious web business that depends on high uptime, good search engine optimization techniques and superior performance, it is usually wise to purchase a dedicated web server package.  You never have to worry that a web site being shared on your server is using black hat techniques or not taking server security seriously.

Dedicated web servers are much more expensive than small web hosting packages.  Many dedicated web server packages do come with technical support and assistant. You should comparison shop and see which server and support fits your needs the best.  Expect to pay hundreds of dollars for a dedicated server or over $75 for a semi dedicated or virtual dedicated server.  Virtual dedicated server means that although you share the server with another business, you can have virtually complete control setting up the server for your specific business needs.  If you are looking for great performance, look into dedicated web servers.
