I have decided that I am going to offer some text link advertising on my site. I think that this is the right time, my traffic is increasing nicely, the Search Engines are very nice to me, and because of this my hosting bill is starting to increase.

So I have decided to sell 5 text link spaces, on the side bar above the fold. Each link will costa total of $5 per month. Right now I have sold one, so that leaves 4 remaining. I WILL NOT sell more than 5 sitewides.

Also I have a “different” link offer. If you have browsed this blog you will notice a number of pages that have higher PR and therefore will rank higher in the SEs. I am going to start selling permanent links in ANY blog entry for only $20. This is a steal, if the SEs start to penalize PR links, well you won’t have to worry since these links will be all natural. Why would you want your link in an article that is completely un-revelant to your site. You will get zero traffic.

So if anyone is interested please contact me soon. When I have sold enough advertising to cover my bills for the next couple of months I will stop. And when I decide that I have to start again, you never know how high my prices may be

I recently bought a new website, www.bluenoserjokes.com it is a joke website that members can add jokes to it. Right now however, I have not been able to get around to modifying the “look” of the site to match the other sites in my network. As you can see I like “blue” and “orange” and I will have a lot of work to do on the site to make it look the way that I want it.

The reason that I bought the script was that I really wanted a joke script.  I have seen a number of them on the web lately but I think that it would be a really “cool” site to have.  My plans are to find as many Newfie jokes and other jokes that are based around the Atlantic region to add to the site.  One of the most important things about a website is to find your niche, and since the majority of sites online today are either based in the UK or USA, I think that an Atlantic Region joke site is great.  Maybe I will include some jokes from Maine too

When I finially get around to re-designing the site I will be sure to let all of my readers here know.  In the meantime, next time that you get a really funny joke in your inbox, go to BluenoserJokes and put it in there.  The more jokes that I have in there the better.

This webmaster work is starting to get addictive.  Every once in a while I think that I have been spending too much time online, looking out for prospects, updating my sites, adding content, links etc… So what I do is I take a step back and then decide to start to sell off my smaller sites.  Ususally I just sell them to friends to cover my costs.  But then I have some money in my PP account and I find myself on the hunt for new sites.

 Then in a weeks time I will then realize that I am spending too much time.  It is really hard to stop, there is so much opportunity out there, and all you have to do is work, read, learn and network.  I have also found my self starting new blogs.  I have had a personal one for a very long time, but that is mainly just to keep family and friends up to date on what I am up to.  However I have recently started another blog that is for my rants, that seem to be getting more plentiful lately.  And finially my forum, which in itself takes about 60% of my free time.

So after reading that you may think that I am a lost case, well I beg to differ.  I have made a compromise with myself, my web work, and the most important participant, my girlfriend.  I have decided to limit my online work to 15 hours a week.  10 during the week and 5 on weekends.  That I hope will bring a better balance to my life, day job and side job.
