I just wrote a extremely simple sitemap generator for the Free PHP Directory Script

It is simple to modify if you have SEO’d it like I have for www.bluenoserlinks.com If you are not sure how to modify this script for your set up please make a comment with your info and I will help you out. If you are looking for some SEO for your directory let me know, and I will walk you through the mod, or at the least show you where I learned to. If you want me to do it for you completely I will do it for a modest fee.

Let me know what you think of this Generator, I will be adding some functionality to it in the future as time allows and will post all of the modifications here. If you have made some changes for the better I would like to know :)

If you like it I would appreciate a link to www.bluenoserlinks.com or this site www.bluenoser.net, if you are not sure about the anchor test I can give you some suggestions but I don’t have any strict rules :)

Here is the file admin_googlesitemapgenerator.zip

If you have trouble downloading please let me know and I will fix it

Submitting to Directories

One of the greatest things that I have learned about is that submitting to free directories is a good idea. There are literally hunderds of them out there, however there are some things that you should know before you start submitting. First is to make sure that before you take the time to submit a link, is to make sure that it is Search Engine Friendly (SEF), this means that they directly link to your site and do NOT use redirects. This is important because you want to make sure that if the site has any PR that some of that gets passed to your site.

Secondly, you have to make a list. Search around, there are a lot of them out there, but I still recommend that you keep your own. It will simplify matters when you find more and more directories to add your site too. Editors don’t like it when you submit the exact same site more than once. I run my own directory, www.bluenoserlinks.com, and if I see that someone is “spamming” my site the IP gets banned.

Since submitting to directories is a extremely tedious adventure, I would recommend only doing a couple of sites a night. Or finding a bunch of sites that use similar software and set up form filler. Another way is to get someone else to do it, this is the route that I like to take for most new sites. I recommend www.directorysubmission.net, they have a number of different packages available. Using a submission service is a great way to get a good number of links online so that you can get the Search Engines to index you. Then you can take that list that was submitted and add it to your own.

So get out there and start submitting, and don’t forget to start with www.bluenoserlinks.com

Ways to Gain Web Exposure

Ways to Gain Web Exposure
By Anthony Bae

Whether you want some exposure or massive exposure, especially on the internet, you got to put some work into it. Just think about it; either you are trying to advertise a product or a website; you will have to start somewhere. People are not just going to be able to find your site or product; out of 3 billions websites in this world, what are the chances that one will accidentally type in your domain name.

Many advertisers use search engines to get exposed, paying so much per click that does not even guarantee that that click will get them the sales to justify the money that they just paid to the search engine for that particular click. Unless you don’t care about losing $100 daily in Google or Yahoo!, you may want to stay away from search engines for now—check out Search Engine Optimization.

How about banner advertisements? Not only does it have lower conversion rate than search engine CPC (cost-per-click) advertising method, it costs you more up front, if you want the right audience. Unless you have a couple of thousand to spare, without any guarantees, try to avoid banner advertisements—and that goes for banner exchange as well, which I personally find totally worthless unless you receive so much traffic to your site that you will get more from the banner exchange program. But by the time you receive so much traffic, you won’t need to go looking for banner exchange software or programs to gain more exposure; they will come looking for you.

The simplest solution I found for product advertising, spending the least amount of money, is advertising on eBay or any similar marketplace. I’m not talking about listing just one lousy listing. List multiples of them. Don’t be like the ones that list 10 at the same time. If you are thinking about listing 10 of them, spread them out maybe in one hour intervals. The more you list, the more exposure. Some marketplace will cost you, but some are free (eg. craiglist.org). You can’t list so many on craiglist.org because they are very strict with spammers. They will even block your IP address for 24 hours so you can’t access their site. If you can come up with different titles and descriptions for every listing you post, you will probably avoid the trouble of getting caught by craig.

6 Guaranteed Ways To Improve Your Traffic With Blogs
By Michael Valiant

Want to increase your daily traffic? How about convincing Google to visit your site more often? There are plenty of ways you can do both, but one of the quickest, simplest, and most cost-effective step you can take is to start your own Blog.

I am not saying maintaining a Blog is a no-brainer, it takes thought and hard-work just like anything else, but the pay-offs are enormous.

Blogs have quickly become one of the most widely used marketing tools on the internet today for one simple reason… They Work! They give the search engines exactly what they are looking for and, if done well, help you built your very own following. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

So start a Blog, install it on your own server, relax, and write. There are great tools freely available on the internet that can supply you with an endless stream of great information to write about, so don’t worry about running out of things to say. While this article is not focused on those tools, if you need some direction we would be happy to help, just send us an email at podcastempire@gmail.com.

No, this article is focused on Promoting your Blog Properly to ensure The MOST TRAFFIC POSSIBLE! And so, on with the show:

1. This one is huge, that’s why it is number 1! If you don’t do this, then you might as well not bother with any of the other steps either because you have already shot yourself inthe foot.

Here is the big secret… Every time you write a new blog entry, PING IT!!! Blog & Ping, Blog & Ping, Blog & Ping… That is how it works, every Ping can be directly translated into hits on your web pages, so BLOG & PING!!! Pinging is simply notifying all the various major Blog Directories on the Internet that you have a new post; every time you Ping, those directories will come and take a look at what you had to say…

So how and where do you Ping? There are a few paid services and only a couple of decent free ones available. We use the Ping Service at http://www.PingTheEmpire.com and have had nothing but success in rowing our various Blogs! You can even bookmark the results page after your first visit and you never have to type anything in again! Just visit the bookmarked page and http://www.PingTheEmpire.com will do the rest.

2. Read other peoples Blogs, leave meaningful comments, and leave behind your own Blog URL and name! Make sure you spend a few minutes to write something meaningful to the topic, or else you comment will likely get deleted.

3. Submit your Blog URL Directly to the Search Engines. You can submit your URL directly to most major search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN all offer submit pages), but we recommend a tool that will submit your URL to MANY engines in one go.
